I've had 3 kids, besides my 1 c section I had epidurals with the other 2. I was open to natural and tried without the epidural, but the pain was even worse than I imagined,  contractions weren't bad themselves but I felt like I was literally being set on fire every time I had one. The epidural helped me have a peaceful birth. I think it's best to go in with an open mind and see how you do without it, but if you need it, get it.

Had natural for my 1st. Would love it this time around but have to ask my midwife as I tore pretty bad with my son & I currently still have the IUD in place so not sure if that would have any affect.
