Expensive baby clothes?

Do you see any point to buying expensive baby clothes?

The way I see it:

Why not pay a little extra to have my baby more comfortable, and looking cuter than super generic cheap clothes.

I'd rather pay $25/ per grow and know its made nicely than pay $5 for a cheap, scratchy suit.

I find the cheap suits stain SO easily and warp once washed a few times.

A friend of mine (same financial situation) always makes fun of me for buying the more expensive suits.

"Oh, you got 1 suit? I got 5 for the same price!"

"Babies grow so fast! You're just wasting your money"

So, how do you guys feel?
