38+4 birth story
All the way though pregnancy baby was measuring big. He was born 10 days early at 8.13lb so on the bigger side
My waters broke on the 5th at 4pm. Due date was the 15th. Contractions got painful at about 6ish and i was admitted to hospital.
After agonising contractions, I was stuck at 3cm for 10 hours. Because I was only 3cm, I was limited to what pain relief I could have because it wasn't classed as active labour. The pain was similar to what I felt at 8cm with my first child but they still couldn't give me the strong stuff because of the dilation. I had dia-morphine but that lasted about an hour before contractions were worse than before. Finally after 10 hours of being stuck, we dilated to a 7 in 30 minutes.
I literally screamed my way to the delivery room at 8cm and was so happy for the gas and air but unlike my first, I could still feel contractions through the gas and air.
13 hours after my waters went and an hour and a half pushing, baby was here.
Glad I didn't need to be induced and baby came when he was ready. Bigger babies are definitely more painful!
Oh, and I pooped 😂
