Proof of Pregnancy?

Has anyone else been asked to bring "proof of pregnancy" to your first prenatal appointment? Most women I've mentioned this to find it incredibly odd since the first visit is usually to confirm the pregnancy...

That is odd. They're supposed to have you urine in a cup and test it themselves to confirm for their records.

My family doctor had to send a referral saying I was in order for me to get an appointment with a Ob/Gyn

Where the heck are you supposed to get proof of pregnancy when that is provided at your first prenatal appointment? 😂 
The only thing i had to provide proof of pregnancy for was my insurance! I would call your doc back and ask if thats right. Cause it definitely isnt.

I have never heard of that. My doc didn't require that with either my pregnancies. You go there to confirm your pregnancy. That's what they're there for.

I've never heard of that either. You could bring your home test or a picture of it I guess, but they will do a urine test at the office and possibly bloodwork.
