I'm a 3rd teacher and noticed that a lot of my students don't bathe regularly. I work and live in a very rural area. I felt as if it could be classified as neglect so I called in a referral at CPS. I informed my principal about the reports and she told me that people in our small town don't bathe regularly and that it's not neglect. I'm confused as why this doesn't qualify as neglect. These children come to school dirty and they smell and sometimes they're odor bothers other students. I'm waiting on someone from CPS to give me a call back to see if this does qualify as neglect or not. I'm a city girl. I bathe myself and my children every night and we do a wash up in the morning before we get dress.
