nexplanon?

hey y'all! im thinking about getting nexplanon and I just wanna know about your experiences getting inserted. did it hurt? how was the numbing shot? and how was your experience with nexplanon over all?

I have a high tolerance for pain and it was uncomfortable for sure. After getting it inserted my arm was definitely sore but after a couple of weeks it started to feel normal again. I will say that I haven't stopped bleeding on it since I got it inserted in December and I am holding on to 25 pounds of extra weight. However, it is nice to not have to worry about taking a pill everyday or an unplanned pregnancy.

Doesn't hurt, bit sore in the night when the anaesthetic was wearing off. The injection is the worst part, but doesn't last more than a few seconds. No need to be worried. My doc told me not to look so I didn't and I was fine

I loved my nexplanon. It was sore for about a week after getting it in. And it'll probably leave a huge bruise but will fade. I had one light period on it and then they stopped all together. My hubby and i were able to have great stress free sex for the 3 years i had it. It gave me mood swings and my sex drive went down some but i dont think i gained much more than water weight while on it. Getting it out isnt bad since they numb you again. It's different for everyone so good luck!

I just got mine about a month ago and I am over weight technically. But since I've been on it I've actually lost weight. I stared on pills that made me eat ALL the time. Now I'm only hungry when I wake up and I'm more energized than I was. Its different for everyone😊

The injection fucking killed!! Didn't feel the insertion.
Btw I have two tattoos and they were cat scratches compared to that injection.

The worst part is seriously the numbing meds and on a 1-10 scale I personally would only call it a 4 (I'm also terrified of needles so that could play a part). After they numbed me though didn't feel a thing. My arm was sore for maybe two weeks after insertion but then I was fine. (I also work as a busser and I was back to work after a couple days which probably helped prolong my soreness)

Oh and I was on a mini pill before nexplanon (which really fucked me up) and after 3 months of nexplanon I'm almost completely myself again. No horrible cramps anymore, my period is significantly lighter than it was on the pill, it's significantly shorter too, less mood swings, and I even got my sex drive back!

Gained 40 pounds in the year I had it. It did lighten the periods though which was nice. Took the dr 40 minutes to dig it out of my arm when I got it removed but I was a rare case where she couldn't grab it lol still have a scar. They numb you so it won't hurt

Getting it out was so much worse than getting it in. Not too bad. Doesn't feel so great getting it in but getting it out was awful
