When do you ovulate?

So today I go to the dr for my annual yearly exam and I mention to him we were actively TTC. He told me to have sex on days 13-17 but avoid sex the four days before day 13. My fertile week is not until the week after. So what I'm asking is what CD do you ovulate on? I'm so confused 😐

With the use of opk tests I discovered I got my positive opk test on cycle day 16 which means I'd be ovulating soon after.

My cycle is 26-27 days depending on the month and I use BBT to track ovulation. Mine is on 12 or 13. Everyone is a little different and yours can shift a little month to month.

Ive tracked two months, one wss CD12 and one was CD14. Ill track again next month and see if thats a general pattern
