Do you think our current electoral college is fair?

As much as it doesn't always play in our favor... I favor it.

It makes it so politics don't just promote or helps big cities. It makes them put effort into the "fly over states" as well.

If it wasn't for the electoral college then politics would only invest their time and money into big cities to get the most bang for their buck. This makes it so those of us who feel like our voices aren't heard can be heard. Our concerns and opinions matter just as much as big cities opinions matter.

No. And the reasoning behind it is so outdated. It favors individual constituents over others. And that is ridiculous. We are all equally as American, all votes cast legally should be counted as such.

I think it's fair because if it weren't for the electoral college, pretty much Cali and NYC would be choosing who won the election. People who live in the city have no idea what it's like to live in a 'fly over state' and different areas have different views and needs. I feel like the electoral college still gives the states that don't have excessively high populations a voice in the election.

Absolutely not. If it was, they would base their votes off of what the majority voted in their state, which they don't. I think the electoral college needs to be gone

Great question! I am in favor of dismantling the electoral college. It's not effective and it rarely rules in favor of what the people actually want. Our votes don't matter like they should because at the end of the day, the electoral college is going to decide for us, and much of the time, that decision will be against us - just like we saw in the last election. The popular vote should be the final verdict but unfortunately it is not.

I disagree with the way electoral college votes are distributed by some states (where whichever party receives more votes by the people receives all of the electoral college votes). However, without the electoral college less populated states wouldn't have much voice. States like California and New York would pretty much be the only states that deciding election results. So, as much as I don't like the results of the election, I believe the electoral college has its place.

Just get rid of it. We don't vote, we poll. They "consider" our polls then do what they want anyway. Money money money 💰 Ppl I know who used to be adamant that our votes count now see what I've been seeing because this last "election" was a slap in the voters face and I live in a democratic state. It shouldn't matter who lives where bc we're all "one nation, indivisible". So why are we being divided to determine vote? 2.8 million???? That's a mighty big number. I didn't like either choice so I abstained as a result of the primaries. The EC, like pretty much everything, is bought and paid. Next election, I will vote but I'll abstain from ballots in which I don't like either
