When should you tell you parents about pregnancy!

I couldn't keep it a secret. I called my mom while I was sitting on the toilet holding the test. Told my dad the same night also. I told my close family and friends within a week of me finding out at 4 weeks. I waited until after 13 weeks to tell everyone else though.

I'm telling my parents at 13 weeks, on my mom's birthday.  I've had two miscarriages before and wanted to wait until it seemed like the chances were better so I didn't get anyone's hopes up - they REALLY want a grandchild.

With my first pregnancy (which unfortunately ended in a miscarriage) I told my mom before I even told my husband lol. I immediately texted her a picture like "DO YOU SEE A LINE???!!" The second time around, a few months later, I texted her a picture right after I showed my husband. Both times my mom knew before the test dried, but she was the only one. I told no other family or friends, including my husband's family, until 12 weeks.

I told my Mum before I told my partner! (which was about five mins after the test result!). I wanted her opinion on the clarity of the result first or if I was imagining it. 
After telling my partner right after and taking a second test together, I then told my Dad perhaps 3 days later. I'm really close with my family though and regardless of if everything went ok or we miscarried I would have liked them aware throughout the process. 
(Although my partner isn't as close with his family, so he wants to wait til 12 weeks to tell them at his grandmas 80th birthday) :-)
