I work for a very small accounting firm, where my boss and I are the only ones that prepare returns, and then we have two ladies that come in part time for administrative things. Well I am 7 weeks pregnant and soooooooo nauseous ALL the time. I have called off work a few time because of it and gone in late a couple times. I am not playing hooky, either. When I'm home, I'm in bed trying not to move, miserable. Well my boss is so mad at me! He's mad that I'm sick now, during tax season instead of some other time (baby was NOT planned!), he's mad that he has to do the work (but won't let me work from home), he's mad that he has to call the others in to cover me, etc... My thought is what the heck am I supposed to do?! I can't help that I'm so sick! I'm sorry my nausea is inconvenient to you, but seriously. Get over yourself. I understand losing help is frustrating and difficult, but there's not really anything I can do about it, you know? Am I overreacting? Is my boss just a jerk?
