Needing others opinion!!!!

My SO and I are trying and I have some important questions!! This would be my very first. I'm supposed to get a visit from AF on the 18th, but she decided to visit me today. A little TMI, I am pretty heavy when it comes to my cycle but this months is relatively light. Another difference I've noticed is that my blood is staying a consistent pink, not the red brown it normally is accompanied by a strong metallic smell. AND glow told me to "go ahead and take that pregnancy test today girl!" But I have it noted that I started my period. And it doesn't hurt nearly as much. I did some research and am aware of implantation bleeding but am wondering if I might be jumping the gun? Should I take a test even though I'm bleeding? Should I wait? I don't want to give myself or you guys false hope, but I really need help. I don't have a reliable woman figure to look up to.
