Tummy time?

Okay obviously my baby is too young yet (11 days) but I'm just curious.. when do you start tummy time??

While there’s no prescription for exactly when to start tummy time, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that parents get going on it early. In fact, babies born at full term with no health issues can start tummy time as soon as their first day home from the hospital, so long as you and your newborn are both awake and alert, and you or another caregiver are there to supervise.

U can start as early as u want. My doctor even considers tummy time when ur have ur baby lay on ur chest. Never to early to start.

I started from day 1. Tummy to tummy is considered tummy time at that age.

We started from the day we brought her home. You do not need to wait for their umbilical cord to fall off, I see that reservation a lot. Remember in the not so distant past it was the standard that babies slept on their tummies and no one waited for the stumps to fall off.

My son hated tummy time right up until he was about 6 months. But would sleep on his tummy, he'd wiggle & wiggle so much that he ended up on his tummy, but he slept do much more peacefully. At first i kept putting him back on his back but he'd just wiggle until on front, started doing it at about 3 weeks old. At 1 hes still a tummy sleeper, its ok til he gets a cold and wipes the snot all over his sheets
