Accutane??

Question

So I've had acne since around middle school, I'm about to graduate college. Recently it's gotten even worse and uncontrollable. I went to the Dermatologist today and she offered Accutane. The side effects sound pretty scary so I was wondering if any one else has done it and what side effects you had?

i am currently taking a different medication for my acne right now but my dermatologist has recommended accutane several times. if  you wear contacts you most likely will not be able to wear them for long periods of time since the medicine dries your entire body out. i cannot take accutane bc i am a dancer and i have to wear my contacts all the time. i know your dermatologist probably told you this already but i just wanted to tell you if you didn't know!!

Has anyone that had taken or is currently taking accutane experienced vaginal dryness? Did the symptoms subside? Did you experience and thing at all down there?  My doctor is going to prescribe it next week and I’m nervous.

You have you tried anything prescription for your acne before?

I took it in my early teens (I'm 26). I havent noticed anything, maybe some GI issues, but nothing bad.  A coworker that took it said the same. And the GI stuff could be completely unrelated. They will make you take a pregnancy test every month. I don't regret it. Mine was bad. Cystic acne that looked awful. After I was done my face was clear except for the occasional pimple
