Sex Education
So this is a long story with a few questions...
So I am currently going to school to become a middle school teacher but I have a growing interest in becoming a sex educator. I went to a high school in the Bible Belt so my sex Ed was limited to teaching abstinence and if I had sex I'd probably get an STD/STI and/or get pregnant. Now in college, I realized I missed so much and was so uninformed. Yes I couldve asked my parents at anytime but it wasnt applicable until now. So I realize there's a need for sex educators and young teens need to be taught this stuff. I'm thinking freshmen or sophomore year would be a good time for them to learn about all the forms of protection, contraception, and sexual health.
So basically my questions are:
Did you have a real sex Ed class?
When do you think students should have sex Ed?
Is anyone on here a sex educator and willing to let me know about education and certification?
What are your thoughts on sex Ed?
