"Abnormal"

A little back story:

I've always had "abnormal" period cycles since I started having periods when I was 12.

My periods have always been irregular, followed by heavy bleeding. I mean like, massive bleeding, to where you just sit and wonder, "How on Earth is all this blood coming out of my uterus!!?" Seemed like I'd bleed for weeks on end, although I could be wrong, it could have been just a week, but the amount of blood I'd lose made it seem longer.

My periods since then have always been relatively heavy flow, to where I have to wear super plus tampons and an over night pad just to keep it manageable. Still having to change it every couple of hours. I recently just switched over to a menstrual cup. Amen.

ANYWAY, to the point here. My cycle recently has been pretty regular. As regular as it gets. Although starting this cycle I was a day late, followed by 2-3 days of light pinkish bleeding.

Bleeding was only noticeable when I wiped after using the restroom. Aside from starting a day late, and spotting, all other symptoms of my period are present. Cramping seems to be worse and I usually never have heartburn but I've been struggling for over a day with that. Been extremely uncomfortable.

I have had unprotected sex with in the last couple of weeks, or week and a half, and I'm not on any type of birth control at the moment. Definitely not trying to prevent pregnancy.

I thought it was implantation bleeding, but then day 4 hit and I started bleeding "normally" again. Normal in my periods terms. Cramps and heartburn are still present.

I've been under a lot of stress lately, so I don't want to assume "THIS IS PREGNANCY!!" But to ease my mind I'm going to take a pregnancy test. But only because this cycle has been super strange from the get go.

I'm sure none of it points to pregnancy, or any serious health concern. It just sucks to be unsure of what goes on with your own body and when it's thrown off kilter.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read this.
