cramps and lightning crotch 😨

I'm 17.3 weeks and last night was having bouts of lightning crotch during bedtime. It was definitely a shock! I also have tightening cramping sensation in my lower abdomen. I'm thinking positive that my girl is/was having growth spurts but I'm still nervous about it.., also I had rootbeer before bed so hoping it's gas related.., even though I'm still feeling crampy this morning.... thoughts and experiences please....
