How often do you shave down there?

I like to keep things shaved down there when I know I'm going to be having sex. My boyfriend and I are long distance so I know when I have to shave because our visits are planned. I'm going to be spending 2 months with him this summer and want to keep everything nice and shaved but shaving frequently gets really irritating (mentally and physically) I want to keep it nice but how realistic is it? Do you have any suggestions to keep things nice and not irritated?
