I just wanted to share my experience as a military member. During training, I had a pap smear. I was pretty naive thinking that I could trust the medical staff and that my records were confidential. I was pretty naive on military culture all together. During the exam, the nurse noticed my uterus was swollen. She assumed I was a whore that got pregnant by another service member During training. She literally looked at me in disgust as I assured her I hadn't had sex.

During the exam, two guys come in ,also part,of the medical staff. I assumed they would be professional. So I didn't mind having them there. After all, there are male doctors/nurses in the world. I said nothing about it. BIG MISTAKE!!!!

As the nurse assumed I got pregnant in training, one of the guys burst out laughing at me. I was so humiliated and treated like trash by these people. As a ultrasound is given the following day, they find multiple tumors, NOT pregnancy like I tried to explain to the nurse the previous day.

Fibroid tumors all in my uterus. This is only one of the many bad experiences I have had with military medicine. I have not experienced such unprofessionalism until dealing with military medicine. I have been getting pap smears since 22. I am in my mid 30s now.

I am just angry with how these people treat patients. Its disgusting!!!! Any other women with horrible military medicine experience?
