What do contractions feel like?

Sorry if this seems like a stupid question!

I've gone through two pregnancies and in my third and I honestly still don't know what contractions feel like! I had two 34 week births and my second pregnancy I sat through the whole night not even knowing they were contractions. Come the next day they said your 8 cm dilated and I'm like 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I know I felt pain throughout the night and they were bearable but I just don't know! I'm 16 weeks now so hopefully I know what they are this time around

Everyone is different! I had back labor so it felt like the worst back ache that you could not escape! At the same time my stomach would get super hard, then it would go away like nothing happened haha

To me they started out as what felt like period cramps coming and going. And then they get worse AND WORSE AND WORSE, lol.

The beginning was like period cramps, I remember thinking "oh this isn't so bad" lol. Then it progresses and it's almost like an out of body experience bc the pain gets so intense and you realize there's no way to stop it. That kind of freaked me out when I was in labor with my daughter but my husband and doctor helped me through them and I got an epidural and after that I didn't feel anything!

I also had pitocin as I was induced at 40+4 so that makes contractions worse I've heard. Hoping to go into labor naturally this time.

When they first started it felt like I just needed to poo, very tolerable. I was able to talk, walk, function completely... THEN they started the pitocin and it felt like an out of body experience like the baby was going to rip out of my stomach, so much discomfort and I felt like I was trapped in the bed. Whew 😐

Not stupid at all! For me they were just like really bad period cramps!

To me they felt like bad cramps that went away after seconds I had the most pain free labor ever. But I think you should still be able to tell rather they barley hurt you like me or you feel like crying and screaming
