what's the earliest you can get membranes stripped??

I'm sure it varies but my doctor wouldn't strip membranes until 40 weeks and then only upon request.

My midwife will reluctantly do it at 40 weeks if Mom is super insistent. Otherwise, she won't do it until 41 weeks. It can be painful, not jumpstart labor, and introduce infection.

I had mine stripped at 35+6. I was pregnant with twins and my Dr was having me scheduled to deliver at 36+4 because of Cholestasis. My Dr would not have been on call at that time so I would have had another Dr. I was already dilated to 2cm and my mucus plug came out while at the dr office before the stripping so I asked him if he could. He did around 11am and also sent me to the hospital for high blood pressure. Got to the hospital at 430pm and 445pm my water broke. I delivered both babies that night at 10:03pm and 11 pm.
