Aadit Amol was born on 8th march 2017 at 4:34 pm. I walked a lot previous 2 days and did squats every time I went to pee. My original due date was 20th March. I was neither dialated nor effaced on my previous appointment on Thursday. Doctor thought it's going to take 2-3 weeks more. But things changed on Monday when I started loosing my mucus plug. I think I lost it over 2 days on Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday night after lot of walk and household work I came to sleep. I was having mild contractions but I disregarded them as I had false labor experience just the previous week. I slept through them. Infact some contractions woke me up from sleep but I still disregard them.
At around 2am in the night I again woke up because of pain. I thought I will sleep in living room as I didn't want to disturb hubby with the movements I might have with pain. I was sleeping on our sofa while listening to something I was half asleep and half awake when I heard a pop. I thought it's some random noise from my stomach. I disregard it and tried to sleep while listening to YouTube. At around 4 I woke up with urge to pass urine and as soon as I stood up there was a gush of warm fluid. For a second I thought i peed myself but next moment I knew I have had ruptured my amniotic membranes and my water has broken. I went to restroom just to be sure. I saw some blood streaks.
After the first gush water stopped leaking. I woke up my husband and told him we need to go. He was in complete disbelief due to my history. I was all normal walking talking no pain nothing. I changed my clothes padded myself. He was still not sure. He suggested that I should call L&D and ask them what they think. I was looking at him with question mark and felt like drowning him in my amniotic fluids. But then as I was about to call them I had another gush I told him it's my water I am not calling anyone and we are going that's it.
We had already placed everything in our car. We started at 4:30 am. I wrote message for my baby welcoming him before leaving house. I was very happy emotional nervous.
As we headed to hospital I started getting contractions. The ride seemed forever even though it's just 10 min from my house. We reached L&D and while giving information I had another gush. They just took me to my birthing suite. I was 2 cm dialated and 50% effaced at 5:30 am. I was having contractions. They were tolerable. My doctor came in at around 8:30 am she checked me and I had not progressed. My contractions were inconsistent and very low intensity. My doctor suggested that if I don't progress then will need pitocin. And exactly that's what happened I had to be started on pitocin. My ADVICE IF YOU HAVE TO TAKE PITOCIN PLEASE TAKE EPIDURAL BEFORE STARTING PITOCIN. Pain is real and it hurts.
At around 10-10:15 am I received pitocin pain went from 4-5 to 20 on the scale of 1-10. I wanted pitocin to be turned off. As anaesthesist was in the operation theater I had to wait till 11 am to get it. After that it was a breeze. I was 4 cm after I received epidural at 11:15 am. At 1 pm nurse again came in to check me. We thought I will be 7 max but I was 9 cm already. And by 2 pm I was all 10 cm. They waited for another hour till I was ready to push. I started pushing at 3 pm. He was not able to come out and my doctor had to give episiotomy. Another dreaded thing which I never wanted. But finally he came out at 4:34 pm.
He was put on my chest and tears rolled down through my eyes. I forgot everything for that moment. He latched perfectly. Even hubby got emotional. Our angel our prince was there in our arms. He was 6lb 13 oz and 20.5 inches long. He is a blessing. We love him.
