Questions for the moms! Where are the best places to register for baby stuff? Also what items did you think were worth the money, must haves, or life savers for either baby or mom?

I didn't register anywhere, but I got a latchco pillow or something like that. It's like a Boppy, but with a strap in the middle. My son loved it until he turned 6 months and learned he could crawl out of the straps. 
A portable swing that you can take anywhere you will be for a few hours. 
Size 1 diapers and higher. I used more size 2 and 3 diapers than newborns and 1. I had about 200 newborn size from my baby shower and then from people just giving them to me that I couldn't use. 
Desitin Butt-Paste... It cleared his little butt up in no time. 
If you plan on breastfeeding, I'd get a small can of formula. Enfamil has one that is made to be similar to early breastmilk. That way it's there just in case you need it. Because you never know how your baby will be, so it's better to have it and not need it, than need it and have to drag a screaming newborn out.
A Munchkin fresh food feeder. I'm pretty sure it's munchkin brand. You're supposed to put fruits in it, but that's next to impossible to clean. So I used ice cubes in it when he was teething and definitely worked. 
Cheap onesies. Because they won't last long anyway. Maybe a month or two before you move on to the next size. 
Stock up on baby wipes. In 8 months, I've only had to buy 2 packs because I had so many at home. And the only reason I had to buy the ones I did was because I didn't realize I was out in the diaper bag until I had already left the house.

I registered at Babies R Us because they price match with all the major retailers around here AND for every item bought off my registry we get 10% back in gift cards to use later. My crib and dresser set alone was over $2000 (nice convertible crib, long dresser, changing table attachment, hutch and upright wardrobe)  ill get just over $200 back just on that purchase, that will pay for my pack and play, or most of the travel system, or the swing and jumperoo.... Even if no one buys from the registry it will save me money on the things I buy myself.
