Rock and Play???

Sorry, I didn't know where to post this!! 😅
Did any of you use the Rock and Play for your baby?? I'm getting one for my baby coming in August. (Irish Twins 🍀) I just wanted some advice from actual users who used the Rock n Play- I love what I'm looking at, just want something personal about it. Gimme your pros and cons please.

It was a lifesaver for us for sleep in the beginning but agree it was hard to transition out of! We ended up buying a second one that had a vibrate feature. Which didn't end up being worth it but had I known there was an auto-rocking one I would have definitely splurged on that!

I used the rock and play exclusively for sleep for my daughter. Pros- she slept in 4 hour stretches starting at three weeks, 8-9 hour stretches at six weeks, and 11-12 hour stretches by three months. It was wonderful! Con- she had a really hard time transitioning out of it! We were finally able to get her to sleep outside of the rock and play at 10.5 months by getting a Dockatot. She still will not sleep flat in a regular crib, pack and play, bed, etc. She never tried to roll over or climb out of the rock and play as you might think a baby would! She was just as happy as can be to be all snuggled in her rock and play!

Be careful. Go on amazon and read the one star reviews. It can lead to a flat head.

I used the rock n play. Baby spit up a lot so we always turned her on her side. She slept in there until about 5 months with no issues. It was only for daytime naps, however, so I was awake to check on her if need be. I personally loved this thing, despite never using it with batteries. Lol

I loved it until I read about Alice. Google Alice and Rock n Play. Do NOT get one to have your child sleep in. The rock and play bassinet- but it does have to say bassinet- is OK though. After reading through articles after reading Alice's story I can't believe I ever let her sleep in it. I never educated myself on safe sleep and just assumed putting her on her back anywhere would be fine. I was really, really wrong. I personally know two children that have died of SIDS and some of that was unsafe sleeping conditions.

I used one for baby's naps during the day when I could monitor him. I know they say not to have your baby sleep in it all night because it's not the safest sleeping position. A lot of parents do with no problems, I'm just a "better safe than sorry" kind of person.
