I got my IUD in November last year and have been dealing with longer periods, sharp pain that comes and goes and now my first yeast infection. The periods - though with less bleeding, has lasted between 10-14 days leaving only a week and a half or two weeks sans period. I'm getting pretty frustrated but my gynaecologist has told me to wait 6 months for my body to adjust. Has this happened to anyone else? Did things change after 6 months? Or is there another birth control method that's just as effective but not as intrusive
