Toddler car seat?

We have the Britax B-Safe 35 infant car seat. The height limit is 32" and our daughter is a little over 28" so I'm thinking it's time to upgrade to a toddler one (my husband does not). When did you upgrade to toddler? Is it too early to change hers? I feel like she's a little too long for hers.

We just switched maybe a month ago. I hate not having the infant seat to take out when she is sleeping. But she likes the new seat.

The leg length doesn't matter as much as the torso. Most infant seats require the baby's head to be at least 1inch below the top of the seat. Having said that we switched our daughter to a convertible seat at 7 months because she didn't have much room through her hips.

My baby is super long so we switched to a Diono at 8 months.  Best decision ever - she is so much happier with the new extra space. The Diono is supposed to be good for lankier kids.

We switched to a convertible car seat at 6 months old because it was just too damn heavy to lug him around in the infant seat. No regrets. He's way more comfortable in his seat now.
