insurance for baby?

Question

I have no idea how this works honestly. Neither me or my SO's jobs at the moment offer insurance (we obviously are looking for a job that does). But say we don't find new jobs by the time our baby is here, we will have to enroll him in insurance. I live in Illinois and have NO idea how to get information. Me and SO are both under our moms insurance until 26. How much is it a month for decent insurance for a baby? 
 
I feel so stupid. But I'm stressing about this 😔

My husband and I were without insurance for a couple months and we went to an insurance broker and bought BCBS. They would probably have plans for babies as well...thy is if you don't qualify for the government one.

I'm not sure the name in your state but i believe its kidcare or medicare.

I live in Illinois too.  Try apply for Medicaid

Apply through the healthcare marketplace... AKA Obamacare. If you're lucky enough to catch it when it isn't down. Thanks Obama.

I quit my career last year to be a stay at home mom, so our income dropped drastically. 
My husband and I now pay $1.98 for our health insurance after tax credits. Thanks tax payers! My daughter is covered under Medicaid. When I reapplied I put down I am pregnant and they already enrolled by unborn baby in Medicaid too. I even got a gold medicaid card that has "Baby of Amy" in place of the name.

In Florida, when you apply for food stamps you can use the same application to apply for medicaid. Or just go to healthcare.gov..
