How far do you have to be to hear the heartbeat and to see a good ultrasound picture ??

I saw my daughter's at 6 weeks. I HEARD it at 10 weeks at the ob office and after I bought my own digital doppler, I heard it from 11 weeks till 20 weeks when she started kicking the hell out of me and no longer needed the doppler .
Edit- these are my first 3 ultrasound pics. 6 weeks,  8 weeks and 12 weeks

I got my first ultrasound at 7 weeks and the heart beat was 126 but they didn't let me hear it. Got to hear it at 11-12 weeks 172 now 💕 haven't gotten another ultrasound yet

I had one at six weeks mainly just to see how far along I was because we weren't exactly sure, we didn't hear a heart beat and all we saw was the sac. 
My next ultrasound was at 8 weeks and we saw her perfectly and heard her heartbeat ❤
