Delayed cord clamping vs. blood cord banking?

Which one has better benefits? Comments welcome.

IMO delayed cord clamping has definite benefits whereas cord banking has possible/rare benefits. It's better for some families who already know they have genetic risks (i.e. Blood cancers) but for the average family, delayed clamping!

We are going with delayed cord clamping. I haven't really looked into banking but we live in a rural area so it'd be pretty pricey for us. We wanted to go with delayed clamping with our son but my dr just laughed at me and clamped and cut it right away even though I had told them I wanted it delayed. This time we are going to a birthing center and my midwife supports it which is so much better than being scoffed at.

I was seeing the doctor that delivered by son until 19 weeks. Once they made me wait for over an hour for the doctor who was literally talking to the nurses about his weekend plans, I decided there had to be a better option. Now I have a full hour with my midwife if I choose to use it and I don't have to wait. It's so much more personalized and I love it!

Blood banking is awesome but PRICEY! If you can delay the cord clamping, do it!!
