Can you get pregnant if you started your BC on the first day of your period?
What if you missed pills after starting on your period?
Or the more pills you miss, the higher chance of pregnancy regardless of starting on 1st day of period or not?

Can you get pregnant starting pills on first day of period: if you're taking BC for the first time you should use other contraceptives for the first week, period or not. It's UNLIKELY to get pregnant on your period, but definitely not impossible. 
What if you missed pills: if you missed even ONE pill you can be at risk. Best thing to do is read the pamphlet that comes with your pills, it will give you exact instructions on what to do if you miss a pill. 
Does the chance of pregnancy go up if you miss more: yes, most likely. Birth control only works properly when used consistently.

If youre trying NOT to get pregnant and can't manage to take pills regularly, there are a lot of other options for birth control. I used nuvaring from age 17-25 (I stopped about a year ago to get pregnant) and it was awesome to think about it once a month. Other options are BC shot, implants, hormonal and non-hormonal IUDs. Talk to your care provider about alternates if youre trying to avoid pregnancy (assuming youre not already pregnant! My pregnancy test wasn't positive until a FULL week after I missed my period so I dont trust negative tests lol). I was terrible at remembering the pill the couple months I used it.

Starting the pill on your period will most likely just change when you get your period. At least the pill I was on. If you miss more than 2 or 3 pills you're supposed to start a new pack because they're useless if you skip multiple pills.

You're supposed to wait at least a week before having unprotected sex after starting your birth control for the first time for it to be effective. So if you started the pack, no matter if you're on your period or not, there's a chance it's not doing it's job. This only applies to if you're new to taking the pill. Also, missing several days does put you at risk of getting pregnant. You have to be consistent, and if you do miss a pill try to take it as soon as you remember. I have an alarm set on my phone that really helps me stay on track. If you're missing pills consistently the pill is less likely to work for you, and it can cause interim bleeding, and you'll likely bleed for a week or more. It happened to me a couple times, and it was annoying enough that I made myseld get consistent - because let's face it, who wants to bleed for half the month? 😒☹️
