First head transplant being done December 2017?!😳

So for any of you who are not familiar with the procedure yet, the first human head transplant is going to be preformed December 2017. They are decapitating the head off of a young man who has Werdnig-Hoffmann disease and putting it onto another body. I will attach the link if you want to read on "how" they are planning on doing it. My question for you is.. do you think it will actually work? Why or why not?

I don't think this transplant will be successful, because you would have to attach the cervical neck and spine. I understand the scientific phenomenon, but the likelihood of bringing the head and body to life will not happen. The Frankstein Experiment.

I like the scientific advancement of body part transplant, but we are not yet ready because we may not have the technological tools to bring life back.

I read about this a few days ago. I wasn't sure if it was real or not. If they do go through with it, I hope they are successful.

Seems really crazy and they have a lot of factors working against their success.

I think that would be a long recovery especially learning to walk, talk and etc. and worrying if the patient will be paralyzed or if the surgery would be successful 🤔

So let me get this straight... Euthanizing humans is completely unethical and inhumane, but it's okay to decapitate people and transplant it onto another body with the hope that it'll work... Good to know. 😒👌

Like..why?? What in the world? Who is the body it is going on?! Why does this body not have a head? 
What will the families think?? Is this "new person" the child of the new headed boy..or the child of the body boy..?

I really don't know if we are there yet. There are so many neurons andnerve  connections and the brain needs to get signals from all over the body. If this is possible, what if he can not do voluntary movements? What if the time taken to send pain/ feeling to brain is delayed. I think it is kind of freaky and sad that someone's life is so damaged by their disease that they are willing to be a part of this experiment.

Does anyone know if this has been tried with any other species before? Any links?

I personally don't think it will work, or at least not without major consequences. Wouldn't the other person become paralysed? Also, is a brain transplant included in this?

Like brain transplants would be wild. You'd legit become I different person O.o
