3 days late but not pregnant result

I'm 33 years old and sadly miscarried October 2015 - my fiancé and I have been having unprotected sex for about 6 months now and still nothing. I'm currently 3 days late (I know, don't get too excited) and took a PT and it came back not pregnant.... I'm so frustrated and not sure if my period is just late.
