Bassinet/crib etc for small room?

My husband and I have a small bedroom and want baby in the same room as us initially. We were looking at getting a moses basket with a stand to have on my side of the bed, but I'm wondering how long until baby grows out of it? Is there a slightly bigger option that won't take up much more room? I have a space about two feet wide to put something in for baby to sleep.  TIA. 😊
