Rolling Onto Tummy Makes Him Upset Rant

Justine
I know this will pass with time and learning to roll at will more effectively. But right now it's frustrating. He plays on his back, then plays on his side, then rolls onto his tummy and suddenly the world is over! He cries until I pick him up or roll him over. But if I put him on his tummy, he rolls onto his back, seems a little startled, then keeps playing. I encourage him by laying down on the ground and trying to play with him when he rolls onto his tummy, but he just won't have it. I'm like, " but you rolled yourself there buddy! It's a good thing! Look at you learning to roll!" But he doesn't care. As far as he's concerned the world has turned upside down and I'm the only one who can fix it. I want him to keep practicing but I also sometimes put him down to play to do something for 5 minutes. Then he rolls and freaks out again! I almost want to set up cushions on either side so he can't roll, lol, but he'd figure out a way around them. Of course I'd never do that. It's the learning process he must go through. But the frustrated mind of a comedic mom imagines a marketed anti-roll baby onesie with padded sides. Just like the mop bottom crawling onesies lol
