KILLER CARDIO: How to prevent injury
Be gentle with yourself. Warm up and cool down before and after any kind of exercise for at least five to ten minutes. This can look like dancing around to your favorite two songs (hello, Beyoncé!), or taking a light jog around the block. Make sure to stretch all your main muscle groups. Make sure you take the time to learn good technique for all the activities that you do and love.
If you do get injured, don't despair; it's just your body's way of telling you to slow down a bit. Take some advice from a trusted coach or trainer and fast track your healing by getting lots of rest (yes, that means 8 hours of sleep every night!). Being injured sometimes is part of being an athlete, but if you look at it like a challenge to be overcome, you'll be back to golden in no time.
