unexpected Labor
At about 10am I went tho the bathroom to pee and as soon I finished I cleaned myself pulled up my underwear made a turn to leave the bathroom and felt a gush of liquid which I assumed was pee.
I looked at my underwear and say little pieces of jelly like discharge sitting in them. Unsure of what it was I thought to look on google (as always) and saw that it was my mucus plug beginning to come out. I cleaned myself up and continued on with my morning. Around 10:30 I went to the bathroom again and had a regular pee but still losing the plug with no pain or discomfort. I called the doctor to let them know about what happened and they told me not to worry and that I could lose it up two two weeks(which was close to my due date ) so I continued on with my day having a slow leak which I assumed still was pee. Around 1pm I started to get light contractions which I thought to be Braxton hicks because they were bare able. They soon became stronger but very inconsistent so timing them was difficult for me to do. It came down to them being so painful that I couldn't even stand up. By 6pm I'm calling the doctor back to explain my pain and the inconsistencies in the time of each contraction and he told me to come in because it sounds as if I could be in labor. We get to the hospital around 6:30pm and when I got there it was confirmed that my water broke and I was 4cm Dilated ( forgot to mention that I was 1cm Monday Morning) I got put into my labor and delivery room and was hooked up to my IV still having those slow contractions they gave me pitocin to speed up my contractions and when I say they hit me every minute feeling like death! I was literally in tears yelling out every cuss word in the book it was a terrible pain. Ready for the epidural I was told to stay super still even with the crazy pain from the contractions (not easy at all) trying to stay still I didn't even feel the epidural being done I was too distracted by the pain from the contractions. It took about 15mins for the epidural to kick in and after it did I was on a cloud, couldn't feel a thing! I slept up until it was time to push. Finally at 10cm she was ready to be born. The doctor came in and explained the process of pushing before and after, and got me ready for some practice pushes. We did one practice push and her head started crowning. Everyone was surprised that she slide down so well, so the delivery team suited up and 3 pushes later my baby girl Delilah Eve was born at 5:17am 6lbs 10ounces 20inches 3/24/2017 ❤️ they couldn't believe this was my first child because of how easy my delivery was I felt super special 😘
