I might have kidney infection.. I'm pretty scared because i dont know what it results too. Has anybody else gotten it? What happens? Is surgery involved?

I had a kidney infection back in aug of 2016 you're supposed to get symptoms kind of warning you but I didn't so I ended up in the ER in a lot of pain a fever of 101.7 and my heart rate was too high they basically give you antibiotics for 5-7 days well depending on how far along the infection is they also take out a lot of blood
