isn't this weird

So my bday was in January my bf and I are in college and long distance. He make his birthday a big deal so I figure it should be the same for me like every other year. I took him out to dinner and got him a nice thoughtful gift. Well he saw me 2 days before my bday and mentioned no gift or taking me to dinner. Then on my bday (I was at school) he started with I have the best gift for you and wanted to give it to you in person... okay fine I understand. Well I just saw him for a week in march and I leave tomorrow. He mentioned no gift and we didn't even go out to dinner like he said. All he did for two months was talk about what he got me yet there's no gift! Isn't that so like sleezy?! I'm not materialistic but he told me there was this surprise and all it's kinda built it all up and was disappointing. I just would have a nice date since we never do that. Would you be upset? Btw I'm a little upset still that he didn't at least give me a card because for his bday when I didn't see him I mailed him something small. And we are still dating so I feel like he should try and impress me. I feel he's going to try and pass a flight to visit me as a gift yet I do that every month to see him. Ps we've been dating 3 years and 2 long distance but I like I said I fly home to see him.
