best baby thermometer?

Looking for recommendations for a thermometer... had a rectal, doctor told me to not use it when they were born so I returned it. Bought a Vicks 8 second one when I brought them home and the battery didn't work. Returned and the second only worked twice. Gave up on that one. Bought the re-li 8 second from Walmart and it seems totally inaccurate and definitely takes more than 8 seconds. The boys were sick today and the nurse asked if I had taken temps then proceeded to tell me I should using a rectal... next doctor came in and said not necessary. I am frustrated and confused. Please recommend one you trust.  Thanks!
