what is something that got you through labor?

Im a first time mama here due April 26 & was wondering besides the obvious epidural what were some things that got you through giving birth. ☺️👶🏻💕

I didn't have an epidural. Didn't want one, wanted to experience birth but what helped me get through labor was the fact that it would be over eventually and it will be a great memory. I had 9 months to prepare, I was mentally ready. I kept telling myself women have been doing this for centuries. I don't regret my decision, I'm a warrior! Stay focused and remind yourself it will be over soon. Good luck warrior 😊

I just gave birth yesterday. My labor was very fast! But keeping calm through the contractions is what got me through. And just give in to the pain, don't try to fight it.

No but seriously, I was in labor for 2 days and what helped my a lot was different positioning, hip squeeze from husband (I think that's what it was called), and telling myself that "women have done this from the beginning of time. Your body is made to do this. You got this. "

At the end of day two I was so exhausted that inbegged for the epidural to get some sort of sleep before pushing.

Honestly just positive thinking. I always go in with a positive attitude. And i know baby needs to come out with or with out epidural so i dont chose one. I concentrate on pushing right and put all my strenght on the bottom part of my body. I did it twice and it works.

Definitely napping (after the epidural was placed).  Hubby and mom encouraging. Changing positions when possible.

Didn't have my phone out, didn't try to watch tv.  Didn't have random people (other than medical staff) hanging out or trying to contact me.

My husband.  .. period.  He gave me strength and sanity.  Made me laugh through my tears of painful contractions and cheered me through every push ! I don't know if I could have done it without him !
