what is your go to method to get rid of a cold sore?

HELP!!!
My boyfriend and I are going to Montana this weekend and I have a cold sore 😔 what is everyone's easiest and quickest way to get rid of them?

I believe it's not widely known that there's an antiviral medication now that kills cold sores.
 
I'm in Australia, it's called Famvir, and here it's an over the counter medication from the chemist/pharmacy. Best taken asap.
 
I've gotten cold sores since I was a child, when really rundown. When Famvir came about a few years ago, I felt overjoyed.

I have feeling MANY people will advise you not to use my method but it works for me. I get cold sores on my nose and my bottom lip all the time from stress or high fever. 
1. ALWAYS, ALWAYS wash your hands before and after touching your cold sore. 
2. The first day don't touch it at all other than to put abreva on it 
3. On the second day when it's filled up with puss I get CLEAN, STERILIZED tweezers and pop it open and rinse it with would cleaning solution and then hold an ice cube on it for as long as I can, if you're brave enough out some rubbing alcohol on it (IT WILL BURN) but it disinfects it and dries it out

Mine are usually gone on the 3rd day and I just have a scab that will last another day or two if I don't pick at the scab. 
I've been doing this since I was like 8 years old (20 now) It's the only thing that works for me.

Cut a garlic clove open and hold in on top if your sore. Doing it multiple time throughout the day.

My usually tells me to use earwax or rubbing alcohol to dry it out. For me it's gone about a day or two after.

Neosporin or whatever or antibiotic cream. Between applications wipe with alcohol
