Old best friend

Idk what to do we both were always down and depressed but we helped each other. Till I met my bf that's when we fell off talking or texting. After that I didn't talk to him or he didn't talk to me for about a year and couple of months. He texted me at 4:16 in the morning saying "More life. More pain." I honestly feel bad that we both stopped talking. The only thing my bf doesn't really want me to talk to him because he would always put our relationship down. But I texted him to try to help him and put ?? After he put that. He texted back right? I was so confused. This is our Convo.

Him: More life. More pain.

Me: ??

Him: Right?

Me: I'm confused right now.?

Him: I know bestie I know. I am too TBH.

Me: What's wrong?

Him: Just the same bullshit. The same pain.

Me: it'll be OK!

Him: I.. Keep trying.... To tell myself the same thing..

Me: Believe me it will you just got to wait it out even though its hard.

Him: Yeah I figured. Just beer doesn't quite help cover it anymore.

Me: You still drinking beer? 😕 Still don't know how people like the taste of it. Its disgusting and makes everything worse.

Him: Yeah only thing that helps. I drink stronger shit now. Stuff that gets you drunk in one or two bottles guaranteed.

Me: oh lord wtf do you be drinking? Honestly you need to stop that shit it just makes you feel more down. I know life is hard because I seen it. You just got to find a way to make everything better by yourself. You can't depend on some people to make you happy because everyone just lets people down somehow it's life. Its a shitty world but you just got to stay strong because everything falls in to place.
