anyone else here plant a garden?? what all do you like to plant and grow in yours??

Question

I love gardening and love to try growing different things. I always grow brandywine tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, lettuce, spinach, zucchini, cucumbers, cayenne peppers, jalepenos, banana peppers, onions, bell peppers, radish, green beans, cabbage, pumpkins, okra, asparagus, horseradish, cilantro, oregano, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, gooseberries, pineberries, sunflowers.

& this year I'm going to add kalarahbi (however you spell it) to the bunch. 
I've tried doing watermelon and cantaloupe but I can never get them to grow /:

& im also going to do potatoes this year. I haven't done them in a few years. How many seed potatoes do you usually plant and how many potatoes do you usually end up getting from them??

What all do you plant in your garden!?

I want to try my hand a gardening but my yard looks like a huge mud pit I have to have someone come out and treat it

I've done potatoes once without much luck. You either need really sandy soil or a way to keep adding dirt. My part of the country is pretty much clay so they don't do well here. I have watermelon and cantaloupe 3 of each because we could eat those every day forever. 1 red bell pepper because I can't eat the green kind, a zucchini, a straight neck squash, a poblano pepper, 2 heat master tomatoes (I live in the desert of Texas and it gets hot) and a yellow pear tomato. I still have sage ans rosemerry from years past and I'm sure I will have volunteer Thai basil and sweet basil. Im also hoping my sweet mint comes back but I'm not holding my breath.

I just bought some flowers with my fur Baby for our yard. I wanna try to plant vegetables in the backyard but Im scared they're gonna die. The ground is sandy.

This will be our first year with taters so I can't answer any of those questions buuuttt..
Our garden consists of

Okra, tomatoes, banana peppers, bell peppers(okay..I'll be honest my garden is 90% bell peppers and 10% everything else hahah. We love bell peppers), yellow onion, red onion, watermelon, corn, cucumbers, green beans, lettuc, and carrots.
We like to can and freeze so we have a giant garden for only 2 people lol we have approximately 30 bell pepper plants, 8 stocks of corn, 10 green bean bushes, 10 tomatoes, 5 watermelon plants (we don't have much luck ever but we plant anyways lol), 10 okras, probably 10 onions, and 5 banana pepper plants.
