Is pregnancy 9 or 10 months?

pregnancy 9 or 10 months?" /> Some people feel pregnancy is 9 months because they may not count the first month. Others feel pregnancy is 10 months because 40/4 is 10. What do you feel?

This is what makes pregnancy so complicated! The reason why it can be hard to keep up with months and such.

The end of gestation is 40 weeks. 40/10 = 4. There are 4 weeks in a month. Yes technically from 37 weeks to about 41 +/- you can give birth, but overall it's really 10 months.

9 1/2. You aren't actually pregnant the full 40 weeks. Two of those weeks are counted before implantation occurs. So, you're actually not 9 or 10 months.

I don't do that generalized length of pregnancy crap so I honestly can't answer. 😂 Every pregnancy is different. Every woman only goes so far in her pregnancy so it depends. There's not a definite nine or ten months to me. Some give birth at six months. Some seven. Some eight. Some nine. Some ten. 
Doctors also over estimate so that's something to consider, too.

It’s 9 months. The first 2 weeks you’re not actually pregnant but if you count those it is 40 weeks which leaves 12 weeks in the year. There is no such thing as a 6 week month... I feel like it’s a bit dramatic to say you are pregnant for 10 months. It’s no where near true even if it feels like 10 months!

I struggle so bad with this! I'm 23 weeks but not due til 27th July (4 months to go) so am I 5 months or 6 months pregnant?? 🙈

40 weeks. It typically works out at 9 months and 1 week ish. 
Don't calculate as 40/4. As the only month that there is exactly 4 weeks in is February. The rest have 4 weeks plus a few days. The extra few days add up. So definitely not 10 months. Unless, of course, you go over and end up giving birth after 42 weeks. Then it's closer to 10 months.
