first OB appointment? what to expect

I am around 6 weeks pregnant (according to a due date calculator). I went the day I missed my period and got anfaint positive but the doctor told me to come back in 4 weeks because I was waaaaay too early to see anything. My first "official" appointment since getting a positive on my bloodwork is Monday. Should I be expecting a sonogram or listening to the heartbeat? I'm a little anxious (excited too!) she won't see or hear anything. What should I be expecting for my first visit?

We didn't see/hear baby at first apt at all. It was basically her asking us questions about our family history, and giving us dos and donts of pregnancy. It was short and sweet, then we planned out future appointments and ultrasounds

Me too, my first apartment will be on Monday and I' 5 weeks now. She told me the doctor will ask me about my history and I might hear baby's heartbeat when they do ultrasound. I'm super excited I can't wait!

First appointment they just talked to me and asked questions and got a detailed family history. Can't hear the heart beat over the stomach usually until twelve weeks. They will probably schedule an ultra sound after that appointment.

I went in on what I thought was 6 weeks 5 days and ended up measuring 5 weeks 5 days. We saw baby and saw heartbeat! It was amazing! Best of luck.
