Is it normal to be jealous of my boyfriend?😕

Sometimes I get mad at my boyfriend when I want to talk to him, but he doesn't have the time because he's either working, or hanging out with his family or friends. When he hangs out with his family or friends, I know I shouldn't get mad, but I do. At first it seems like I get mad because he doesn't have the time for me at that moment, but I'm starting to realize that it might be more of a jealousy towards him. I'm in my 2nd year of college and I have been having trouble making friends (at the moment I have "friends" and it's never been easy for me to make friends). He knows this. I kind of rely on him and want to talk to him constantly because of my current situation, so when he's not able to for various reasons, I get upset. I want to be able to tell him when I'M hanging out with my friends. Don't get me wrong, I love my alone time, but I start freaking out when I have too much of it. He was supposed to visit me the weekend of the 15th, but realized he couldn't because he had made plans with his friends prior to this. He offered to come next weekend, but I said no due to my feelings. So, my overall questions are: does anyone get jealous of their boyfriend? How should I deal with this? Should I talk about this to him?

I don't see why you'd be jealous of your boyfriend when you can have the same thing. You're in college! Join clubs, go to school-held events, start up a conversation in a classroom. I'm not a very social person. When I relied on one friend to help me get other friends, I realized it just wasn't the way to do it. They were all basically her friends, I just tagged along. So I joined a club and got friends that way. Plus, what better way to make friends than to complain about a class you're in togeter with each other? You can sit there and be jealous or you can go and do things just like he can. It's good you've pinpointed where the upsetness comes from, but now it's time to do something about it.

No that's not normal you should never feel jealousy over a partner you should always be happy for that person , you need to talk to him before getting jealous for nothing

It's okay if you feel that way, because you can't control what you feel. However, you CAN control how you act on those feelings. So don't take out your negative feelings on your man.
Honestly, it sounds like you're just not your own person. You need to be more independent and have a true social life outside of him.

How to make friends:
1. Ask someone in class if they would like to link together and study. Also, if someone announces a study session, go ahead and go.
2. Join clubs and organizations.
3. Go to campus events (e.g., ball games, rallies, parades, festivals, plays, concerts, performances, etc.)
4. Do some community service and VOLUNTEER (e.g., food drives, soup lines, socializing dogs and cats at the local animal shelter, babysitting kids at the homeless shelter, planting flowers in the community garden, etc.)
5. Get a job (on or off campus).
6. If allowed (and if you can afford it), get a dog and take them on walks all the time and take them to the park all the time and take them to the dog park all the time and take them to community events.
7. Go to community/city events (e.g., festivals, parades, circuses, carnivals, performances, concerts, plays, etc.)
8. Go to parties (and no, you don't have to drink to have fun at parties).
9. If you're religious or would like to be, go to church and attend Bible studies and youth groups (or the equivalent for your religion).
10. JOIN CLUBS. If you watch anime, join the anime/manga club. If you read, join a book club. If you play video games, join video game club. If you like poetry, join the poetry club. If you like animals, join a club pertaining to animals. If you want to help with LGBTQA+ issues, join the Gay-Straight alliance. If you do art or make pottery or knit or WHATEVER, join that club.  If you like it or are passionate about it, chances are that there's a club for it.

It's okay to feel jealous. Or if it makes you feel like you're not "good enough" like he is. I'm in he same boat, it's hard! Making friends can be really tough especially if you're shy.

If you keep putting in effort eventually you'll get there too!!

I had this problem in high school with my girlfriend ☹️ I was quiet kid. I didn't really talk in class or make friends. My girlfriend was my only close friend. And besides her, I had like 3 semi close friends/acquaintances. And my girlfriend was one of the popular kids, always going to parties. Always surrounded by a huge group of people. Everyone liked her. She was outgoing.

And I had always wanted to be that person. But I never could. It just wasn't me. So I was jealous that she kind of had the social life that I wanted and she was going out and doing cool things. And I was at home alone With my depression and anxiety. 😓

I've recently become friends with her again. And it's still pretty much the same dynamic. But I'm more mature and better at dealing with it. I'm still envious and jealous of her life, for sure. But I'm also able to feel happy for her. I'm glad she has so many people that care about her. I'm glad she isn't lonely or anything. And I've realized now that if I want to be included, I can just explain that to her and ask to tag along. :)

Jealousy is part of the human nature. To say it's not normal is idiotic 🙄 I get jealous of the close friendships my husband has with his friends and I don't have any because I moved an hour away from my friends and family to be with him. But it doesn't make me mad at him or make me a bad person. Just talk to him and I'm sure he will make you feel better about it. My husband always does.
