TMI- Yogurt for yeast infections?!

I have Dannon all natural plain yogurt, it TASTES TERRIBLE.. I'm 29 weeks with a mild yeast infection. There's like white clumps of discharge around the opening of my vag (red/irritated & itchy).. how can I apply the yogurt down there? And do I have to contact my doctor just for a yeast infection?

You can use yogurt vaginally. I'd recommend a plain organic yogurt over Dannon, but as long as there is no added sugar or artifical sweetener or flavor, you should be fine. If you put some on at bedtime it'll help keep it in doing is job and be less annoying.

You can also use garlic cloves as vaginal suppositories. Score the garlic with a knife to let some of the juice out and thread it so it doesn't float up out of reach and pop it in. Again, night use is better, partly because the garlic flavor can travel your mucus membranes and end up in your mouth.

There's good info on the use of garlic as an anti bacterial if you get a chance to Google it.

I wouldn't put yogurt down there while pregnant. My OB told me not to when I suggested it. Instead I ate the horrible yogurt and did the monistat 3 day and it went away. He said its risky putting anything like yogurt or even garlic inside while pregnant. I'm fearing another yeast infection though ugh

You can put it in a tampon dispenser, or pour it in latex gloves let it freeze then pop them out. Yogurt shaped tampons.

Monistat is safe to use when pregnant 
And eat the yogurt. Plain is best but you can do fruity ones just pick the ones with the lowest amount of sugar

I've never heard of putting the yogurt down there. I just always ate the yogurt and used Monistat. If it doesn't get better in a week call your doctor and they may prescribe you something.
