I know a lot of people can be judgemental and that's a worry. But forget them. Move on when you're ready. I stayed with a man for three years. In the last 3 months of our relationship, he cheated on me and I forgave him. He treated me like crap, I fell out of love with him and happily ended it.

Two weeks later I met an amazing man who was everything I ever wanted in a partner. We hit it off and I've been with him for over a year now. I'm glad I didn't wait the "appropriate" grieving time. Cause I did my grieving and moving on long before my relationship with my ex ended.

Just depends on the person. My fiance started dating me 2 weeks after he and his wife split, she started dating her now husband the day after they split. They saw the end coming.

Whenever you're ready. Sometimes in a relationship if you can see the end coming, you usually start to already emotionally detach yourself. So if you meet someone and want to date them and you've only officially been broken up for a week, I say go for it as long as you want to! Good luck!

Back when I was dating I would wait at least 6 months in between relationships so there was no emotional mess, but if something were to happen between my husband and I I don't think I could ever start dating again. If I did, it would be a matter of years. I personally believe it's up to you and how you are doing emotionally and mentally!

I would say it's whenever you feel comfortable. I was in a 6 year relationship which honestly I was done months before it actually ended. But when it did end I moved on pretty fast.. I started dating my now bf I think about 2 weeks later and we've been together almost 9 months now.

I don't think there's a hard and fast rule on this but if it were me would wait at least a month or two just to make sure I didn't fall into a rebound situation. 5 years is a long time, it's a good idea to be on your own for a bit to experience the independence.

It depends on how the relationship ended. My long relationship ended slowly, like one breakdown at a time and by the time I had moved out and gotten my own place... I was so ready to get back out there and have fun! I had spent years working on something that didn't work.
