We have a 16 months old baby boy, in the last three or four months he's been bumping his head when we say no to him, when he doesn't eat his breakfast and we tell him that he needs to eat, he will start bumping his head in the high chair, in the middle of the night when he wakes up, if I don't go right away to his bedroom he will start bumping his head with the door. We have been teaching him not to do it.... Or at least we are trying, Is this normal in kids? We are first time parents, so sometimes we don't know how to handle some things or how to react to his behavior. He gets a lot of attention from us, we thought that maybe his acting this way because I'm pregnant.

A couple times he got some bruises (very small ones) and h doesn't bump his head really hard.

Any advice on how to handle this situation? Is anyone dealing with a similar situation and how do you handle it?
