It really just depends on the situation. If things weren't very serious then why would it be a problem? I dated a guy my friend dated. She was with him for like a few weeks maybe a month. I could never do that to my best friend. Also think of it this way, if it works out with her ex and you two end up married and she's in your wedding party, how awkward to know that someone else in the wedding party slept with the groom. Happened with my bil; the maid of honor dated him before he started dating his wife. Very awkward.

I wouldnt but my best friends and i have very different taste in guys so ive never found any of their bfs remotely attractive also the fact that i have never gotten along with their bfs because they all think im a bad influence on my friends even though i have been in a stable relationship since i was 19 raising my SO's child and working 2 jobs. I dont do anything bad but they all hate me because i call them out on their bs(one had a drug problem and stole my friends car and hit her/ the other friends bf is verbally abusive to her) just like i do with my SO.
