having a physically demanding job and being pregnant?

Hey ladies! So I took 2 test early this morning and it had a faint line! I'm really hoping and praying I am pregnant with our rainbow baby. My question is, how did you keep yourself healthy while having a physically demanding job? I work in a hospital in the ICU and tonight has been super hectic! I'm currently typing this while hiding out in the break room lol. I needed a break for a few minutes. All your responses would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I'm an Ortho PA. I was so active my entire pregnancy. I think it really helped me. I felt great with the exception of like four weeks at the beginning when I had morning sickness. I worked until the day before I gave birth and I was kneeling, sitting on the floor, squatting, reducing fractures and assisting in Ortho surgery the whole time. I felt great and had my first baby two days before my due date. Also I was o lucky in labor for six hours and pushed for only nine minutes which I also attribute to my active lifestyle. It'll be okay.

I'm 25 weeks and a veterinary technician at a very busy clinic.  Today was my fourth 12 hour in a row and thankfully tomorrow is the last one. It can get so hectic, you have to be you're own voice. About too pee your pants? Go! Feel dizzy? Tell someone and sit down! I'm one of those people who rarely ask for help so I make it vocal if I need help or am uncomfortable doing something. You and the baby come first, even if there are grumps.  Yesterday I wasn't going to be able to get lunch on time and started to feel faint. I said I'm sorry, at least let me scarf something and ran out real quick before coming back.

I work as a hair stylist. I stand for 10 hours, most of the time without a scheduled break for the bathroom or eating. I'll usually hide for 5 min and inhale food and try to pee . I'm not exaggerating. I know it's required by law for breaks but most days people are late for appointments , or want to add on a service so it makes me run behind. Even if I'm on time most days I'm booked from morning till night with no breaks. I worked like this with my first pregnancy, IM NOT DOING THAT THIS TIME! I don't give a shit what's going on I'm using the bathroom and eating for a full 20 min. If your job is demanding you need to be too about the safety and health of your child .

Talk to your boss about pregnancy needs,  eventually you may be put on lite duty or something to ensure your safety during pregnancy.

Congrats!!! Be open with your boss and working isn't the problem. Lifting things that are extremely heavy is dangerous. Being around germs could be dangerous but that's why you should wear masks. Make sure you have enough snacks and sit down when you can. You should be fine.
